Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, red-hot to create a Palestinian State, is pulling out all the stops to arrange a summit in Annapolis, Maryland that will include Israel, the Palestinian Authority and as many Arab states as will deign to attend. The summit promises a reprise of "Peace In Our Time," with Israel playing the role of Czechoslovakia.
History and common sense dictate that the summit can only result in a marked increase in terrorism and bloodshed. One possibility is for the summit to fail in the sense that no agreement is reached. What will be the consequence? When President Clinton's persistent effort to broker a compromise at Camp David failed, the Palestinians launched the second intifada, which resulted in thousands of murders and maiming. Fatah's leaders have already promised a third intifada if current negotiations don't result in an agreement. There is no reason to disbelieve them.

The other possible outcome, that the summit produces an agreement, will be an even greater catastrophe. The Oslo Accords of 1993 allowed Arafat and the P.L.O. to return from exile. Israel's withdrawals from Lebanon in 2000 and from Gaza in 2005 have proximately caused the creation of "Hamastan" in the South and the empowerment of Hizbollah in the North. Israel's citizens have been victimized by missiles and rockets launched from the territories abandoned by Israel's government as gestures of good will.
The next logical step, the sacrifice by Israel of Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem to a new Palestinian state, will expose the center of Israel to rockets and missiles, which will be launched by the newly created terrorist state. The Jewish portion of a divided Jerusalem will be subject to attacks from the Palestinian side. Ben Gurion Airport will be within easy range of shoulder-held missiles fired from the abandoned territories of Judea and Samaria.
It is painfully apparent that additional bloodshed will follow the Annapolis summit as surely as thunder follows lightning. There is no room for a Palestinian state west of the Jordan River. A summit designed to create such a state is the death knell for the Jewish state.
The proposed Annapolis Summit poses a threat not only to the Jewish state but to Jews everywhere in the world.

We are morally obligated to do whatever is necessary to stop this summit from happening.
If we do nothing, we will be unable to tell future generations that we did not see what was coming.
